Dr Sarath Ranganathan

Dr Sarath Ranganathan graduated in 1990. He undertook his fellowship in respiratory medicine at Great Ormond Street and the Royal Brompton Hospitals in London, UK, and was awarded a PhD by the University of London in 2003 for research in the field of infant pulmonary physiology. He is a leading authority on the role of infant pulmonary function testing in young children with cystic fibrosis. He coordinated the London Collaborative Cystic Fibrosis Study of Lung Function and Clinical Status in Infancy between 1999 and 2002 in the UK before being appointed as a consultant in respiratory paediatrics at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne in March 2004 where he currently leads the Melbourne wing of AREST-CF.
